MTB UPLIFT SERVICE, ABOUT US

After returning home from the annual pilgrimage to the French Alps, the effort of pushing my bike to the top of my local trails was getting in the way of what I had come to do...Ride.

The site at the Forest Of Dean is so perfect for an uplift service. I couldn't see how there wasn't a service operating already. I met with the Forestry Commission and to cut a long story short, Flyup was born.

The uplift takes you to the top of the Downhill runs which have a mixture of trails to suit most ability's of riding, from short, technical sprints to longer flowing runs with jumps and drops, most of which can be linked to tailor make a personal track.

When you are ready for a break, the Pedalabikeaway Cycle Centre has a coffee shop which serves snacks and rolls, a bike shop to get you back on the trails, toilets and even a bike wash avoiding the eternal muddy bike, clean car issue!

Using a fully insured, modern mini bus and a purpose built trailer, Flyup will get you and your bike to the top of the hills without the big push, saving your energy for that perfect run to the bottom.

We are open 4 days a week in the from Friday through to Monday and also on selected Tuesday's during the summer months.  We cater for 16 riders and their bikes.

Please note that the map below show's only some of the numerous DH trails available at the FOD. The new Venderers is accessible using the uplift.

Ski Run - The original downhill trail at the Forest of Dean and rideable in all weathers, the Ski Run drops in through big rocky and rooted sections with fade drops. Into a fast set of turns, a hip jump, the popular tabletop, berms and road gap.

Sheepskull - Super fast all the way. Through the top ‘bus stop‘, then jumping into and out of a bombhole, over some roots onto the middle fire road. Flying on down from there, loads of challenging roots tempt you into braking, then anchors off into the final fast ‘motorway‘ section.

Corkscrew - Fast and fun. Super fast, jumpy top section leads into a fast rooty bottom section, then swooping through a valley and over the finishing hip jump.  Please note:  The bottom hip jump has been reshaped and moved back from the fire road after a number of recent accidents - take it easy on your first run through!

Flatland - A separate top section, Flatland is ideal to lead into the bottom section of Sheepskull. Rooty corners darting past tree stumps lead into a sharp drop onto the middle fire road.

Endo - Endo darts down from the middle fire road level, through tight rooty switchbacks and into a fast open bottom section with a tabletop and a small stepdown drop. Ideal to use as a variation to the bottom of corkscrew.

Cougar Root - The Cougar Root delivers the Forest‘s fair share of loam, with long, drifty corners and roots galore, this one‘s a real test of skill with a load of fun thrown in too. A real challenge in the wet!

Corkscrew 2 - A jumpy alternative to Corkscrew‘s top section, berms and jumps are in season here. Super fun and fast too, and a great one to session.

Mr Rooty - Mr Rooty sure lives up to the name.

The OC - Starting from the middle fireroad again, rooty corners currently lead into the bottom of Endo.
